Writing Your K53 Learners Test

Once you have booked your K53 learners test at your local testing station, it is recommended that you purchase a K53 learners test manual and start studying immediately. The manual is divided into the three sections; the rules of the road, road traffic signs and vehicle controls. The test takes one hour to complete and is multiple choice, it may be a written or computer test; ask when you book your test.

K53 Learners Test – Practicing Driving

You are allowed to drive on national roads and freeways once you have passed your K53 learners test. Be aware of other road users and conditions on the road at all times. You must always, before driving off anywhere, check your blind spots and go through your vehicle checks. Keep your K53 learners test manual handy and refer to it often, apply your knowledge of the rules of the road, road traffic signs and vehicle controls when driving.
When you are comfortable with all aspects of the practical and theoretical aspects of driving you are ready for your driving test. There are two sections to the driving test; a yard test and a road test, for the yard test you need to practice parallel parking, stop-start and turning manoeuvres. Have a thorough understanding of the rules of the road, road traffic signs and vehicle controls so you appear confident and well prepared when demonstrating your capability as a driver.
